Get started
1. Check the system requirements
| Device | Minimum OS | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone | iOS 26 | Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, Control Center, Live Activities |
| iPad | iPadOS 26 | Can act as the local network host |
| Mac | macOS 26 | Can act as the local network host |
| Apple Watch | watchOS 26 | Requires a paired iPhone |
| Android phones and tablets | Android 8.0 | Tablets can act as the local network host |
2. Download the app
Download FleetDispatch for free from the App Store. iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch share a single app. On Android phones and tablets, download it from Google Play.
3. Complete onboarding
The first time you open the app, onboarding walks you through setup:
- Choose a usage mode:
- Solo: Use the app only on your own devices. Data on your Apple devices syncs through your own iCloud.
- Host: An iPad, Mac, or Android tablet in the office acts as the host, and other devices connect to it on the local network. Phones can’t act as the host.
- Client: Connect to the office host—for example, a driver’s phone used to log dispatches.
- Create your first vehicle.
To switch to multi-user collaboration later, see Multi-user sync.
4. Want to try it first? Use Sample Mode
Choose Try with Sample Data First during onboarding, or later choose Try with Sample Data under Data & Sync in Settings, to try the app with sample data that’s kept completely separate from your real data (Sample Mode is only available in Solo mode). During the trial, tap End Trial at the top of the screen at any time: the sample data and any changes you made during the trial are cleared, and your own data isn’t touched.
5. Log your first dispatch and return
- On a phone, tap ⊕ Quick Actions in the middle of the tab bar → Dispatch; on iPad, Mac, and Android tablets, use Dispatch at the top of the sidebar. Choose a vehicle and driver, and the Start Odometer is filled in from that vehicle’s last return.
- During the trip, the plate, the trip timer, and a Return button stay pinned at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Return, enter the End Odometer, destination, fuel amount, and costs, then tap Complete Return. If the end odometer is less than the start odometer, a warning appears next to the field and the app asks you to confirm before saving: tap Cancel to go back and fix it, or choose Save Anyway if the reading is correct.
For details, see Dispatch and return.
Next steps
- Today Dashboard: Adjust the cards on the app’s main screen to fit your work.
- Reminder Center and notifications: Set up due-date reminders for vehicle inspections, insurance, driver’s licenses, and maintenance.
The in-app Help Center shows the articles from this website. You can search it, and when you’re offline it uses a built-in offline copy.
