Android

Requires a phone or tablet running Android 8.0 or later. Download it for free from Google Play, and don’t download installation files labeled FleetDispatch from other sources.

The Android version has the same design and core features as FleetDispatch on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and works alongside Apple devices in the same fleet.

Phone: the driver’s main tool

ItemDetails
HomeThe customizable Today dashboard
Dispatch and returnDuring a trip, an ongoing notification shows its status and opens the return form
Home screen widgetsToday’s summary and trips in progress
App shortcutsLong-press the app icon to start a dispatch and other common actions

A phone can’t act as the team host, but it can connect to the office host as a client.

Tablet: dispatch on a big screen, or act as the host

ItemDetails
LayoutA sidebar on wide screens
Dispatch TimelineShows conflicts across vehicles and time (see Global search and Dispatch Timeline)
Team syncCan act as the local network host for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and other Android devices (see Multi-user sync)

How it differs from the Apple version

  • No CarPlay, Apple Watch, Siri, Live Activities, or Dynamic Island. Use home screen widgets, the ongoing trip notification, and app shortcuts instead.
  • No iCloud: data is stored on the device. To move it to another device, including iPhone, iPad, or Mac, use a password-encrypted backup file (see iCloud sync, backup, and restore).
  • Navigation opens Google Maps.

Permissions

You can turn off location (an ongoing notification shows the trip while its route is recorded), nearby devices (for an OBD-II Bluetooth adapter), notifications, and other permissions in system settings at any time. See Privacy and security settings.
